2nd Birthday Bash

Well Jack's Pizzeria In the Park was the place to be on Saturday. All my friends joined me to make our very own mini pizzas in the park behind my house in celebration of my 2nd birthday. Mine had lots and lots of cheese! We even had a very special guest--Stringbini the Clown! He put on quite a show, and guess who was the star?? ME! We played with all my toys, including my new lawn mower, and swung on the tire swing. All my friends brought books to give to the USO's United Through Reading, a program that videos soldiers who are being deployed reading a book to their kids. The book and the video are then sent to the kids to have special moments while their parents are away. Don't worry, I got really great presents from my family, too like a sand and water table from Mom and Dad! To cap everything off, everyone sang happy birthday to me around my ginormous cookie cake and helped me blow out my candles. After the party, I took a long nap, then swam the rest of the day while we cooked out on the deck. It was a great weekend. Here are some pictures of some of the highlights.

Relay Success

This past weekend was the 2007 Relay for Life--we've been preparing for months and it finally happened. We had perfect weather and tons of fun. The theme this year was Nascar style, "Racing for a Cure". Mom was on the committee this year in charge of all Relay activities, so I've been helping her for months come up with fun things to do. There were no injuries and everyone seemed to have lots of fun, Mom's 2 goals for the event. We had a bounce house, 3 legged races, motorized car races, bingo, pj contests, dance contests, bubblegum blowing contests, tug of war, volleyball, soccer, poker, and even an American Idol competition. American Idol was probably the most successful--we even had Ryan Secrest, Paula, Simon and Randy. Aunt Laura came in for the big event and played Paula--she was definitely the funniest judge. Mom embarrassed us all by starting off the songfest with "I Will Survive". After that, we had so many people sign up, we had to close down the Idol registration. It will surely be something we continue next year. Dad was a huge help at Relay with his big muscles. He helped us set up the tent and volley ball net and got all the motorized cars working (he seemed to have more fun with these than the kids!). Since it was an all night event, Dad came home with me around 9pm, and then after Idol, Aunt Laura came home so Dad could go back to run the midnight poker tournament. I don't think those guys and girls knew what they were signing up for--Dad won almost every match--he's quite the card shark! To top it all off, Mom's team, the Hot Rod Mommas won the campsite contest, something that the City of Coppell wins every year. The city was quite surprised and said they were coming back next year with a vengeance. Despite the lack of sleep, it was really an awesome weekend, raising almost $90,000 towards cancer research. Here are some pictures, although Relay for Life could never be described through photos or words--it has to be experienced. PS I've also included some photos from my most recent zoo trip with my buddies and some naked flower pics (Mom lets me run around naked in the front yard after we swim in the spa!)

Springtime Celebrations!

The past two weekends we have had the pleasure of spending time with family. It started with a wonderful visit to MO where we met up with all the Arnolds. Jason, Jenn, and the girls were there, and we had lots of fun playing with one another (despite the continuous us of my new favorite word "MINE"). Since our bdays are so close to each other, the Grands decided to celebrate them all at once with a hot dog dinner and ice cream cake--yummy! Next we made a visit to Woodville for Easter weekend. It was the weekend of the Dogwood Festival, as well. Unfortunately, a freak freezing storm blew in and put a damper on the festivities. This was the first ever festival with freezing rain! I even had to watch the parade from inside the car with Grandmother. Fortunately, the sun came out for Easter morning and the Easter Bunny was able to hide the eggs outside. Here are some pictures of all the celebrations.

Eggscellent!
