Thanksgiving 2008

We had a grand Thanksgiving celebration in Missouri this year. I had tons of fun with all my MO, AR, and GA relatives. The festivities began with a Thanksgiving feast at my school where we dressed as pilgrims and Indians. I was a pilgrim and thoroughly enjoyed gnawing at some tasty ham, as well as multiple rolls. We took off from school to pick up Dad and head North. We stopped in Texarkana to sleep, as Dad was getting weary and Mom needed to stretch her legs. The next morning we took full advantage of the free breakfast, then continued our trek to PB. With the help of Old Maid and Crazy 8, we successfully concluded our journey just before 2pm Thanksgiving Eve. I was so excited to see my cousins, and we played and played until we could hardly stand. After we gave out, the adults stayed up for a Seinfeld challenge, a game we brought for Papa called Scene It. Dad won, of course, but fun was had by all. The next morning, Mom and Pat headed out early to prepare for the great Feast! There was still ice on the ground when they arrived in Thayer, something we East Texans rarely see! We arrived later and the eating frenzy began! My favorite dish was Grandma Pat's rolls--with lots of butter of course. It was a day full of wonderful family food and fun. We continued the vacation in Poplar Bluff with game playing, marshmellow roasting, and just enjoying our time together. I can't wait to all be together again.
