Thanksgiving in Wimberley
Our Love Thanksgiving with Grandmother's side of the family was so much fun. 8 families went together and rented a couple of cabins in Texas' beautiful hill country. We had perfect weather and accommodations, delicious food, and wonderful company. The only downer was that Grandmother got sick and she and Grandandan had to go to the hospital Thanksgiving morning. She's feeling much better now and we're already planning the same trip again in two years so that they'll be able to enjoy it with us. The other bad news was that A&M lost--not a good thing in a house full of Aggies. It was probably because some joker (Wesley) snuck a Longhorn cake into the house. We quickly cut the icing "horns" off the cake which turned out to be pretty tasty! I had lots of cousins to play with--We fished, played cars, ran around outside, rode bikes, and busted a pinata! Everyone really enjoyed doing the "Thanksgiving Lounge" which consisted of eating, laying around, playing games, visiting, then eating some more! We also got to visit Grandmother and Grandandan's best friends, the Bartas, who retired in Wimberley. They are now enjoying being Hill Country artists through their pottery and painting. They recently opened a gallery with some other artists in the town of Wimberley-- But the most fun was going to their house where James and I got to throw some pottery! It was such a cool experience, and I can't wait to see the finished product after its fired. It was a wonderful vacation. I hope you had a fantastic Turkey time too.
