The past few months . . .

So lots has happened the past few months. I won't make excuses for not updating the blog, I'll just blame it on my mom! Let me just give you a quick recap of the major happenings in my life. Grandma and Paw Paw came to visit me this past weekend. We had lots of fun playing outside together, and enjoyed some nice weather. We're looking forward to seeing them again in a few weeks for Thanksgiving in MO. On a sad note, my only two living great grandmothers passed away within about a month of one another. We're all trying to adjust to not having them here, and they will be missed greatly. I'm so glad I was able to meet both of them, and am even happier those moments were captured through pictures and will be available to me in the future. On the happier side, my Aunt Laura tied the knot in September. We've had lots of fun with all the wedding festivities. It was a small family wedding, but we're planning a big barn dance to celebrate the event in 2 weeks. I've had lots of fun outings with my buddies, of course. We've been to the zoo and a pumpkin patch just to name a few. Of course, tonight was a biggie--Halloween! I was a tiger this year, very scary if I do say so myself. I have quite a ferocious tiger growl and pawing maneuver which spurred my mom's idea of the tiger costume. We started out at the church carnival where I jumped in the duck pond instead of catching a duck for a prize! Then we trick or treated around the neighborhood. It was lots of fun, and I have a ton of candy to eat. I ate a whole lot tonight and even tried to take my trick or treat bag with me to bed (as shown in the picture)! I've attached a few photos to highlight some of the happenings. Those included are from a luau party for Aunt Laura, some with my cousins in Woodville, the pumpkin patch, zoo, and of course Halloween.

Bringing you Up to Date!

I know, I know, it's been a while since I updated you on my goin's on. We do have an excuse--the internet connection was down and after it was fixed there was just a whole lot happening around here. I'll start with our trip to MO to visit the Grandparents Arnold, as well as Uncle Jas, Aunt Jen,the girls, Grandma Millie, Uncle Gary and Stella. Once again, I had a blast with my cousins. We swam in the pool, and we went to the lake. I had the best pulled pork I've ever had and almost made myself sick eating so much! Grandma Millie let me sit in her lap and play with her remote, my favorite toy. I also had fun playing with her thick socks--she laughed when I pulled on her toes! My favorite picture from MO is the one with me, Sarah and Hannah in the pool--it's a classic. I'm climbing up the slide about to do something dangerous I'm sure, Sarah's "posing", and Hannah is just trying to get out of the water!

The next big event was the circus--my first trip to see the actual Ringling Bros Barnum and Bailey 3 ring event! I'll have to admit, I was rather overwhelmed. I sat in my Dad's lap the whole time, still as can be, just trying to take it all in. It might have been a litle much for me at this age, but I had a great time. There's just so much to look at! I'm sure next year I"ll be able to appreciate it even more, and will even be able to call the animals by name. I can't wait.

The following Tues was National Night Out. This program is sponsored around the nation by police and firemen to promote crime prevention in your neighborhood. The idea is to get out and meet your neighbors, plus the officers come by in their police cars, fire trucks, even motorcycles to introduce themselves. My mom and Mrs. Wilson organized it for our neighborhood and we had a great turnout. We served ice cream sundaes will all the fixins. We met lots of neighbors we hadn't before, some very nice folks. Mom and Dad let me tear into my sundae. It dribbled all down my face and chest and was really messy--just the way I like it. Then I got to ride one of the neighbor's really cool tricyles. THe parents might have to get me one of those! Speaking of rides, I just got my first MOTORIZED automobile. It's a 4 wheeler--mom picked it up for me at her Moms Club yard sale. THat's another reason we haven't had time to update the blog. Mom's in charge of all the charitable giving for the moms club, so she decided to organize a consignment yard sale with a % of the profits going to charity. She didnt really know what an undertaking this was. Over 30 families participated--luckily it wasn't held at our house because you've never seen so much junk in your life! I wish we had pictures to share. The good news is the yard sale made $3,500. It benefited the Brent Woodall Foundation, a local Coppell organization that helps children with autism. We're taking it easy this week, because the weekend was just nuts with that sale. Dad helped out a lot. He and some other Dads hauled off all the leftover junk to another charity--there were 4 truck loads leftover, although we probably sold about 80% of the junk we had. Amazing! Well, that's about it for now. We're looking forward to a rather uneventful weekend. Talk to ya soon.

Fish and Splash Bash

It's been a really fun morning. Mom and Dad organized the 1st Annual Mom's Club Family Fish and Splash Bash. It all happened right here in our back yard (the park). Everyone brought something-- swimming pools, fishin' poles, hotdogs, buns, chips, drinks, and cookies. We had quite a turnout, and all felt it was a big success. We even had a total of 10 fish caught! It's about time the Dads got to do something with us kids. Dad made a lot of new friends--all the Dads gathered around the grill while he cooked the hotdogs. Hopefully he's met some future golfing buddies! Here are some pictures of the big event.

Happy 4th!

Happy July 4th!

We've had quite a celebration around here. Last night Mom and Dad took me out to Kaboom Town. It's a fireworks celebration in Addison, a suburb just east of Coppell. Kaboom Town is ranked in the top 10 firworks shows in the nation! There was a band, food, drinks, games, and lots of people. Unfortunately it started to rain just as the fireworks were about to start--but that was my favorite part! Mom and Dad ran with me in the stroller all the way back to the car. It was my first ever storm and I loved it! I got so soaked that mom just had to take off all my clothes and I got to ride home in just my diaper. The fireworks were launched as we drove home, so we got to see the beautiful show after all. And as an added bonus, the show was set to music that was broadcasted over the radio--amazing! This morning we left early for the big parade. The Moms Club had a float in the Coppell July 4th parade--some kids road on the float, while others (including me) strolled along with their moms. Mom and I decorated my red stroller in red, white, and blue with balloons, streamers, ribbons, and posters--we had it all! It must have looked pretty good because we got 2nd place overall. We passed out bags of animal crackers that said "Is your life a circus? Join the Mom's Club for support and fun!" This was great advertising for the Mom's Club. We tried to only pass them out to small children who we thought might be potential members. Dad watched the parade with another Dad, and he took some good pictures of us. Check out my cool July 4th outfit--Grandma Pat and Grandpa Glen sent it to me. It's been a really great time. Hope your 4th is as much fun as ours has been. Love you.
