Fun March Week

Well I just thought I'd share my fun filled week with all of you. It started off with a great trip to the Fire Station. Every time we drive by, I point out the fire trucks to Mommy, and if they're not there, I am very troubled. Well on Monday, not only did we get to stop at the fire station, I got to meet the firemen personally and get IN the fire trucks! The firefighters were so nice to us. We climbed all over the trucks, and they told us all about what they do. We got to see where they sleep, eat and watch TV--can you believe each fireman has his own leather recliner in front of the big screen TV? So that's why Mom and Dad say our taxes are so high! All joking aside, these guys do a great job and keep us safe. Did I mention that they even let us put on their "costumes" as we called them. They told us we could come back any time just to say hi or take a picture. The fun continued yesterday when we took a trip to Hearthstone Assisted Living Center. I love visiting there. All the residents really seem to like my dance/gymnastics moves I perform for them down their hallways and living area. Yesterday, Mom and her friends brought a bunch of Easter eggs and hid them in the courtyard. All the seniors walked, rolled, and scooted outside to watch my friends and me hunt the eggs. Some of them even gave me a few hints! I think Hearthstone is pretty cool--they even have their own pet bunny that they let me pet. I'll look forward to visiting there again soon. Here are some photos.

SNOW!!!

Yes, we do actually get some white stuff every now and then down here in the Big D. Tues night we got a little preview, but nothing like we saw today. The yard and park were covered in beautiful white powder--the perfect consistency for building a snowman! Grandmother and Grand Dandan are here for their Willie Nelson concert and helped in our snowman creation. I have been sooooo excited with this curious weather change, and I keep asking Mom and Dad if Santa's coming? They said I'd have to settle on the Easter Bunny! My neighborhood friends and I had snowball fights and made snow angels--all firsts for me. Here are some pictures to capture the moment, as it will probably be gone tomorrow.

A Man and his Grill

We helped Dad pick out his new grill today, and man is it a beauty. He's wanted a Weber grill for a very long time, and after his very productive and successful year at work, he finally decided to splurge. We've put the old grill out by the trash and are waiting to see how long it takes for someone to pick it up. I hope they realize that only one small section of the thing even lights anymore! Here are some pictures of Dad with the big, black, grilling machine. He's getting it ready to cook dinner tonight--yummy!

Flay Flare!

Mom and Dad hosted the first Dinner Club meeting last night with the theme of "Show your Flare with Flay!" Dad made Bobby Flay's ancho chile rub filets, and Mom created a mushroom chile sauce to drizzle on top. Everyone else brought delicious additions to the beef and had a great time eating, drinking, and being merry. I had my own merriment next door with Jessica eating pizza and dancing to the wiggles!

Jan/Feb 08

Just wanted to get you all up to date on my most recent frolicking. Mom and I have been trying to keep up with my always busy social calendar. We just celebrated one of our favorite holidays--the day of LUUUUV. Mom and I threw a Valentine's party and dance for all our friends. It was quite a crowd pleaser. We played games, sang karaoke, and buried each other in balloons--the living room was covered in red and white balloons thanks to Mom, Dad, and the bicycle pump who worked hard in providing these wonderful decorations the night before. Unfortunately, we got some bummer news toward the end of the party that Poppoo was down to his last few days. Mom and I packed up our stuff and headed to Austin in order to help Aunt Laura through the situation since Grandmother and Grandandan were on trip. When we got to the hospital I showed Poppoo my newest cars, told him dinosaur stories, and Mom and I read him my favorite books. Poppoo joined Nana on Saturday. Although we were sad, we knew it was what he wanted. As I told Daddy later on--"Poppoo's not sick anymore." We had a very nice service for him on Tuesday and got to reunite with family we hadn't seen in a while. I've included some pictures from the Valentine's celebration, as well as a trip to the Dallas Aquarium (it's really more like a rain forest--nothing like the GA Aquarium, although still very impressive). I also included some photos of Super Bowl Sunday when Dad and I really junked it up with nachos, pizza, wings--you name it, we ate it!

More Christmas!

Christmas finally came to a close after Grandmother and GrandDandan (as I call him now) visited us to celebrate the holidays. Mom kept all the decorations up until they got here so we could exchange our gifts under the tree. I even got to play with my Christmas train a few more days since they gave me a new train car, the 2007 Peppermint Tanker to add to my collection! We had a lot of fun together and were able to get the entire Kenesson clan on webcam. Uncle Jay and the gang look like they are really enjoying themselves and very happy in Lubbuck, and they are very pleased with the new home. We had fun listening to GranDandan really bang out some carols on the piano, as well as cozying up by the fire. They left our house for Austin to visit Poppoo and meet my newest cousin, Ella Douglas. It was Ella's first trip to Texas--I'm sure she was a bit overwhelmed since her life in LA is much different than Grand Jayne's Longhorn country! Grandmother and Granddandan said she is a beautiful little girl, and I can't wait to meet her. Here are some pictures from their visit.

Christmas 2007

Well, it's New Year's Eve, and I just wanted to share all my fun holiday times with you. Grandma Pat and Papa arrived on the 23rd in a sleigh full of packages! I couldn't keep my hands out from under the tree. They finally let me open one on Christmas Eve--a race track for my cars! I've already worn the batteries out. Christmas morning finally came and I guess I was a good boy this year, because Santa certainly didn't skip this house! He left me blue guitar, just like I asked for. I also got my very own wooden train set so I don't have to beg Mom to take me to the bookstore all the time. And can you believe that Santa knows I love popcorn! He left me a HUGE John Deere tin of popcorn--the cheese was my favorite. I got to play with my new toys for a while before we moved to the tree to open all the presents--they just kept coming! I got a really cool karaoke machine from the grands so I can bust out my Mike D talents, plus some neat clothes including a light up lightning McQueen sweatshirt. We ate all day long and played with all my new toys--that's my idea of a good time!
Mom and Dad took off the day after Christmas on a trip to the Big Apple--without me! But I got to stay with Pat and Papa who took very good care of me. Papa reads great stories, and Pat is a great cars player--I let her have the green car and I had all the rest. They learned a lot from me while they were here, like the fact that my Mommy is so talented--she made my clothes, the skylight in our house, my toys--I explained all of this to them. The day they came home, I was so excited to see them. Pat helped me make a welcome home poster that said Mommy and Daddy. I held it up outside when they came to the car. Mom and Dad had a fabulous time in New York. They saw almost all the sites including Rockefeller Center, the World Trade Center site, Wall St, Liberty and Ellis Island, the Met, Central Park, 5th Ave, and the UN. I'm glad I didn't go now, after they explained to me what they enjoyed doing. Who wants to get dressed up to sit and eat things like raw fish for three hours or walk around looking at paintings or meeting rooms all day? I guess they do because they seemed to really have a great time. I'd rather be playing cars with Papa and Pat! Here's the week in review.
